Candace Roush - Superintendent
Indoor Air Quality Coordinator
It is an absolute honor to be the new Superintendent of the Shoals School Corporation. For what I feel today transcends gratitude and excitement and merges more into the realm of respect and revered awe for not only the job but also the precious people who call Shoals their home.
Today, our doors and our hearts will open for your child. We will begin the 2014-2015 school year with excitement, dedication, and purpose as we, once again, pledge to do everything our abilities and resources allow to educate and empower your children.
This year, the system-wide theme for the Shoals School Corporation is "Raise the Bar." We believe that we have some of the finest teachers and students in the nation and are making it our mission to examine every facet of the educational process and improve it.
There is no room for status quo teaching. There is no time for average leadership. There is no tolerance for run-of-the-mill student engagement. Our desire is to see every child that walks through our doors become influential leaders, civic-minded community supporters, career-ready graduates, and service-dedicated citizens.
I believe this town is special. I believe this town is full of people who care about each other because of blood or choice and have decided to be bound by something greater than themselves. The people of Shoals are bound together by hope and pride.
Join us as we begin to instill that sense of pride into your child that you hold so dear. Partner with us as we commit to investing our time, energy, hearts, and minds into your child. Commit yourselves to making your home a school away from school as you read with, talk with, and learn with your child.
We want great things for this town and we believe the best place to start is with its children.
The time is now and we are that school.
