New Announcements :

There will be a short meeting for all girls in grades 8-11 who want to play volleyball this fall. The meeting will be on Wednesday at 12:30 and will take place in the main gym.

Wednesday, April 25th during Star Period Josten’s will meet with the 2013 graduation committee to select next year’s announcement. The meeting will be in the Media Center. If you could please let the graduation committee (class officers) know about this meeting.

When Prom pictures are here, Mrs. Sutton will let the attendees know where to pick them up. If you have any questions, let her know.

The Varsity boys track team finished fifth at the Dubois Invitational Tuesday night. Jondavide Hopkins won the 100m (11.23) and 400m (50.93) for the Rox while Brian Hert posted a second place finish in the high hurdles (15.9).

Jordan Sorrells finished third in the 1600m (4:50) and posted a PR. Jondavide leaped to a third place in long jump (19’11”) competition.

The 400m relay team (49.5) of Johnny Arnett, Brian Hert, Kyle Courtright, and Nick Gerkin finished fifth. The Freshmen 400m relay (60.0) team of Tanner Sorrells, Michael Hawkins, Logan Albright, and Kyle Courtright also posted fifth.

Sixth place finishers included: Brian Hert – 300m (44.8); Jondavide – 200m (25.2); Michael Hawkins – long jump (18’ 11”); Johnny Arnett – 100m (11.96) and Nick Gerkin – high jump (5’6”). Clayton Tow posted a PR in the 3200m (11:41) but did not place.

“It was a strange meet. Our effort was there. We overextended ourselves at times trying so hard to win races. I was proud of our team and the way they competed. We definitely have some opportunities to improve upon heading into the tournament.” Stated Coach Howell. The Rox will travel to Orleans on Monday night.

Any student interested in taking Driver's Ed this summer at Shoals High School should stop by the main office and pick up a gray brochure. All Star Driving School will meet with any interested student on May 9, 2012 in the high school library at 11:30 AM. Classes begin on June 4, and end on June 15. The classes will be held Monday through Friday from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM in room 408. The cost is $315.00. To be eligible you must be fifteen (15) years old on or by June 4. No exceptions.

The Pathfinder Staff will be taking pre-orders for the Senior Edition of the Pathfinder. Please sign up to make sure that you receive your copy. Sign-ups will be in the High School Office and in the Media Center. These will be $2.00 each. (Each Graduating Senior will receive 1 complimentary copy courtesy of your Senior Class)

There are 2012 Martin County 4-H enrollment forms in the office. If you are interested in joining 4-H please pick up one and return it back to the office. Deadline is May 1st.

Athletic physicals will be on May 3rd from 6:00-8:30. The physicals will take place at Loogootee High School and the cost is $16.00.
